NYC?Los Angeles: John Gibson + Multiples, 1971.
30.5 x 30.5cm, printed gatefold sleeve content of two 33 rpm LP audio records
The first issue (pressing) of this important recording of Reich’s influential minimalist works (four in total) that only used a limited orchestra (eight small tuned drums, three marimbas, three glockenspiels, male and female voices, whistling and poccolo).
This is one of the unnumbered edition that did not include the score but it is unplayed and in VG+ condition. Now very scarce.
was limited to 500 numbered copies and came with a leporello fouldout score, as well as 100 Artist Proof (AP) copies. This copy is not numbered, only inscribed, and we suspect it to be one of the AP copies. This copy also lacks the leporello score that was issued with the signed/numbered edition. The gatefold sleeve has the title written on it neatly in ink by the recipient, but is otherwise in very good + to near fine condition with only some minor toning. Both records are also in superb condition, very good + or better showing only some very faint sleeve wear. A beautiful example of this important record from early in Reich’s career and is very scare as an association copy. 1971. John Gibson + Multiples US
