HUGO BALL. SEIN LEBEN IN BRIEFEN UND GEDICHTEN. 1930.

£50.00

Berlin: Fischer Verlag, 1930

21 x 13.8cm, 312pp. B/w frontispiece photo-portrait. Wrappers. First edition of this compelling biography of Hugo Ball, as authored by his Zurich Dada collaborator and wife. Details the Cabaret Voltaire years, as well as the post-Dada years. The forward by Hesse is fitting, given that Ball had authored a quite good study of the former’s philosophy and works. A close to fine example in somewhat worn (but intact) original printed dustwrapper. Scarce.

The Cabaret Voltaire building is now a shop selling t-shirts and tourist trinkets.
