33 x 40.6 x 30.5cm, three dimensional card sculpture printed photo-offset on thick die-cut cardboard, stainless-steel wire, chains, nickel-plated fasteners. The last variation on Oldenburg’s series of mouse sculptures this was produced in a large edition size of 3,000 but over the years has become a hard to find object. The card when correctly assembled creates an abstracted Mickey Mouse on a card base. This example has the original string attachments meaning it has not been assembled – and very unusually for this edition has been signed on the back of the “head” by Oldenburg in pencil initials and dated “’71”. Slight marks and browning to card, one slight dent at top of base else VG. Scarce as we say but particularly so signed.
