A COMPLETE SET OF OPEN LETTER ANNOUNCEMENTS (AVIS I – VI) PRINTED ON PAPER. 1975.

Six different, 29.7 x 21cm, black on white announcements here printed on paper (rather than the documented cards which were printed in full colour). All display a different image from Broodthaer’s collection of found printed items which all contained images of eagles. This group are all folded in their original printed envelope dated on the envelope 17.4.72 with the text “MUSEE D’ART MODERNE”. This is the very rare announcement mailing for the artist’s important parody museum venture “Musee D’Art Moderne Section Des Figures Department des Aigles” which is similar in content to the better known Open Letter Announcements (AVIS I – VI) but here produced on paper. This set was addressed to the Director of the Kabinett Fur Aktuel Kunst, Herr Jurgen Wessler. Fine although folded for mailing as issued. In original VG+ mailing envelope.
