Paris: Le Soleil Noir, 1973
19 x 19cm, 150pp plus original wrappers with tipped on modified (broken) record. Internally content of five additional 17.5cm, 33rpm records. The first edition of this famous collection of sound poems by Franken and texts by Heidsieck. The cover mounted record (which has been cut away in four areas) has on it two works - Partition V, Poeme-Partition by Ruth Francken and is one sided only because of its function as an art object/broken record. The other five flexi-disks contain in order: Partition V, Poeme-partition, Poeme-Partition B2 B3, le 4eme Plan, La Penetration, La Convention Collective, La Cage, La Mer est Grosse, Quel Age Avez-Vous?, Bilan ou Mecher Ses Mots, La Semaine, passe-partout no5, Ruth Francken a Telephone and passe-partout no 8 . This copy is one of 875 numbered copies after the du tete of 325 copies but is augmented by a dedication from Heidsieck to his friend Henri Chopin: "Henri c'est pour toi. On a fait bien des choses ensemble. Formidable. Merci. Amicalement. Bernard". Obtained indirectly from Henri Chopin's library, this is a rare item which is made unique by the important association. Up to 1991 when Heidsick won the Grand Prix de la Poesie, Chopin and Heidsieck were very close friends but it appears jealousy at the latter being honoured by the establishment and some differences in aesthetics drove the two apart and, as so often found when close friends fall out, the insults and criticisms of each other flowed in both directions thereafter. Reference: Broken Music, p. 144. Very scarce especially with a dedication. A very interesting association copy.

Edinburgh: s.p., n.d. (c. 1971)
50 x 45cm, yellow on blue paper silkscreen with the letters NACDEIAR in triangles around the centre point on pink paper. The letters are an anagram of AIR DANCE - hence the movement in the latter - and the image has become the blades of a fan. Fine. Limitation not known.

London: The Round House, 1973
76 x 52cm, brown on one sided high gloss paper. The publicity poster for a series of musical events including Kwaidan (three Japanese ghost stories) by Takemitsu, a live concert of the composer's music, a concert of Tibetan religious music (no date announced) and a concert by Stockhausen. The design is a large image of Takemitsu along the top of the poster and a short text in large typography below. A scarce item relating to the avant garde musician, writer on aesthetics and founder member of Jikken Kobo (experimental workshop). Very good condition with very minor browning along edges and four small pin-holes at corners where it has been hung in its past history.

NYC: Francesco Scavullo, 1973 (printed 2004)
54 x 44.5cm, silver gelatine print. A single image from the "Song", portfolio released as part of Francesco Scavullo: A Photographic Retrospective. Printed after the controversial photographer's death this is an iconic image of the rock star's face in close up. This is a proof copy of the print, signed on the stamp by Sean Byrnes who printed the image. Additionally the handwritten text: “Prop. of James M. Endez, Dada Art Gallery, 19469 Ende's Studio” has been written on the back. Sadly there are some condition issues here - some vertical tears to the white upper border and one diagonal crease top left which has effected the image for around 15 cm. With proper framing this would not be too obvious but it is an issue. These prints fetch $2,000 at auction but we have priced this much lower to account for these issues - still a fantastic work showing the middle aged Jagger in all his hubris. The portfolio was released in 150 number copies but this is aside to that.
