The "Bund Freies Deutschland" party was founded during the preparatory phase for the elections for the Berlin House of Representatives in 1975 - the aim was to form a nationwide organised "fourth party" but it was a failure - the party could not win a single seat. Staeck adds the slogan: "THE COLD WAR IS MAKING US REALLY HOT! - BUND FREIES DEUTSCHLAND". VG+.
