16 x 11.5cm, grey foil stamped boards content of a 32pp concertina folded sheet displaying a selection of people looking at art (with the art not being shown) taken by Monk from the internet. This is one of only 50 such books produced. VG+. Very scarce.
Bruxelles: MorePublishers, 2021 50 x 70cm, 400gm lasercut board, with a text: "A TIME AND A PLACE AT SOME POINT IN THE FUTURE E.G. TWO WEEKS FROM HERE". The work is not only one of Monk's "meeting" works but also references Lawrence Weiner's stencil works. It is one of only 20 (plus 5 APs) signed and numbered examples. VG+.
Bruxelles: Morepublications, 2021 12 x 16 x 3cm, two part cardboard box content of 36 original photographs taken on a disposable camera and printed out by Monk. The images are all views of the artist's studio which includes object multiples by Martin Kippenberger. This is one of a signed and numbered edition of only 10 boxes (+ 3 a.p). VG+.
Bruxelles: MorePublishers, 2021 Eleven digital prints (dimensions vary - 28 x 21.5 and 29.7 x 21cm) which are reprinted from press releases by Gagosian Gallery where Donald Judd, Theaster Gates, Anna Weyant, Jordan Wolfson, Jim Shaw, Rick Lowe, are announced as being represented by the gallery. The outer cardboard sleeve has a signed and numbered label from Monk from a total edition of 12 copies plus 8 artist's proofs. VG+.
Brescia: Galleria massimo Minini, 2021 30 x 21cm, 2pp announcement leaflet for a solo Monk show. The title of the show Fritto Misto means Mixed Grill. The back of the leaflet shows a receipt drawing by Monk. Inserted loosely in the folded leaflet are two 30 x 21cm, 2pp text leaflets explaining the show - one in Italian, the other in English. The leaflet is signed in pencil by Monk on the front. VG+.
Glasgow: Wax366, 2021 10.5 x 15cm, 2pp limited edition postcard with on the front an image of a Monk object multiple (a balloon) released in 1991 with the text "ART IS EASY" printed on it. This work was released ten years after the original but here in a different format. This is a mailed and stamped example sent to Paul Robertson by David Bellingham the publisher of the card. VG.
Paris: Florence Louwry, 2021 23 x 17cm, unpaginated (c. 60pp printed recto only). An artist's book which prints images of all of Monk's artist's books but only the back cover (hence "My Backside"). One of 500 examples. VG+ - but this example is signed by Monk on the back cover in thick black felt tipped pen.
N.p. (Brescia): Tonini Editore, 2022 16.5 x 11.2cm, 52pp plus card covers. Artist's book with one photograph of a young Jonathan Monk followed by 46 colour images of Ed Ruscha's Crackers artist book from Monk's own collection. Monk has the same number of the Crackers book as his age and buys a new example every year. This is in VG+ condition and is unusually signed by Monk in pencil on the inner last page.
Bruxelles: Morepublishers, 2022 118.5 x 175cm, red and black silkscreen on semi-gloss paper displaying an image of Mel Bochner in a doorframe along with measurements. The image was taken from an early Konrad Fischer announcement card and expanded in size to fit a standard bus advertising poster frame. One of only 15 signed and numbered examples (alongside 10 artist proofs). VG+.
Krlsruhe: Meyer Riegger, 2022 21 x 15cm, 6pp printed outer folder content of eight 21 x 30cm, 2pp loose sheets folded to 21 x 15cm. Exhibition catalogue. The sheets (apart from one side) show installation views of the exhibition. The book is signed by Monk in pencil on the inside back cover. VG+.
Gothenberg: LL'Editions, 2022 18.5 x 14cm, two part cardboard box with embossed title and foam insert content of a 14.3 x 9cm, 20pp single sheet leporello publication. Artist's book by Monk where he has re-photographed the original Ed Ruscha All the Buildings on Sunset Strip artist's book using an iphone 12 in panorama mode. One of 250 examples - part of the series of similar formatted books released by LL'Editions. VG+.
Quenast: More Publishers, 2022 10.5 x 15cm, 2pp. Printed postcard with watercolour stroke in red - the instructions on the card are to position the mark 180cm from the floor to indicate Monk's height in 2022. One of 10 artist's proofs aside from the edition fo 40 copies. Signed in pencil on the back by Monk. VG+. In original glassine envelope.
Berlin: Haubrok Foundatino/Hatje Cantz, 2022 10.5 x 15cm, 2pp artist postcard printed gold on white with an image of Monk gallery installation partly on the right. The card was one of only 70 such cards printed by the Foundation as an unannounced edition. This card is signed on the back by Monk in black felt tipped pen. JOINT: 10.5 x 15cm, 4pp hand made green card folder with a text handwritten by Monk in pencil - "White print on gold paper only seventy made" Monk has made a mistake as the print was gold on white not the other way around. VG+ with unique folder.
Berlin: Haubrok Foundation/Hatje Cantz, 2022 30 x 21cm, 100pp plus card covers and brown printed dust jacket. Exhibition catalogue for a show that took place mostly during the Covid shutdown. Monk’s exhibition was a display of his collection of announcement cards from the 70s and later. Colour installation shots throughout along with short texts in English and German. VG+.
NYC: Casey Kaplan, 2022 15.2 x 11.5cm, 2pp announcement card displaying a full colour painting by Monk on the front: "This painting should ideally be hung close to a David Hockney". The exhibition consisted of abstract colour paintings with texts suggesting they should be hung next to a work by a famous artist. Verso gallery details. VG+.
Berlin: s.p. (Monk, 2022 Twelve different 8 x 10.5cm, 1pp printed small cards each with a text that indicated that in that month Jonathan Monk had at some point slept with a particular artwork from his collection under his bed. Each month has a different typography, colour of card and print colour. Complete sets are hard to obtain. This set is unusually signed by Monk in pencil on the back of each card. All VG+.
