MICAH LEXIER: MULTIPLES. 1990. PERFORATED ANNOUNCEMENT CARD.

Toronto: Open Studio Gallery, 1990 23 x 15cm, 1pp announcement printed green on thick white card. The image of a woman looking at her reflection in a pool of water has a perforation horizontally across the card at the point where the water meets the physical side of the bank. Lexier often uses perforation of paper or card in his works to suggest a physical transformation or a relationship between areas. This card is hence also an object multiple. VG+.

Artist's book designed by Micah Lexier and Lisa Naftolin for the former's book sculptures where the images on spines of a number of books when installed correctly show a portrait (each spine having a different part of the overall image). Nine such works are reproduced in the centre of the book along with short essays by Marnie Fleming and Nancy Tousley. The rest of the book (around 400 pages) is blank. VG+.

Kamloops: Kamloops Art Gallery, 1993 30.5 x 22.5cm, printed white envelope content of two 58 x 42cm, black on off white exhibition posters/announcements on newsprint - both consisting of a typographic design and one somewhat minimal. Two exhibitions by Lexier at the same time - one his own multiples and editions and the other an exhibition curated by Lexier with other works by his contemporaries (Eric Cameron, Ian Carr-Harris, Lynda Gammon, Janice Gurney, Regan Morris, Aaron Morris, Richard Storms and Jeannie Thib). Both posters folded as issued. The envelope is sealed but opened by the use of scissors - with some small tears to the pasted down printed flap. Price is for both items in envelope as a group.
