Dusseldorf: Edition der Stadtischen Kunsthalle, Dusseldorf, 1974. 36 x 14 x 14cm, two part cardboard box content of one 30 x 870cm (unrolled) printed paper scroll; either end with wooden attachment. Signed and numbered by the artist. One of 400 numbered examples issued of this obviously "lengthy" multiple by Filliou. Fine in like storage box. joint: XEROX COPY OF THE ARTIST'S BOOK. It appears that a number of the original edition were released without the printed small book of the same title (we have seen at least 3 other such copies). Here we have a facsimile of that book in xerox format. VG. Priced to account for the xerox replacement for the book.

First edition of this critique of the university system written by radical students which argues that the education system is in thrall to capitalist corporations and required major reform. Illustrated with cartoons throughout. Minor browning and edge wear else Vg.

Dublin: Free University Press (Tisdall), 1976 32.5 x 20.5cm, unpaginated (c. 72pp but recto only). Card covers. The privately printed attempt at gaining political support and funding from the EEC (now EC) for Beuys's vision of a Free International University where students did not gain degrees but rather co-operated in projects and creative initiatives. Additionally staff and students were to live communially in the same buildings as they worked together. The choice of Ireland was more political than due to Beuys' then connection with Celtic countries. A VG example.

Dusseldorf: Freie Internationale Universitat (FIU), 1980 23.3 x 20cm, printed card folder with two glued on card strips designed to hold small pamphlets. Five different political pamphlets as issued including Beuys' theoretical call for a greener world "Aufruf zur Alternative" and other texts including the manifesto "Aktion dritter weg", the political party's statutes and a contact form. Fine and scarce.

Wangen: FIU Verlag, 1992 21 x 15cm, 24pp plus pictorial wrappers. The publications catalogue (most being items relating to Beuys including signed postcards and object multiples and books). Bound in is a subscription card and laid in (as issued) is a 42 x 29.7cm, (folded into 4) announcement poster for a group show which included items by Beuys and 21 x 15cm, 1pp price list. Fine.

Coventry: Art & Language, 1976 40 x 27cm, black on brown paper printed letterpress. Promotional poster for the School magazine project conceived and run by David Rushton where artists and students were encouraged to contribute to a magazine mostly devoted to students who wanted to challenge the typical authoritarian structures of British art schools.

This poster has an amusing vitrolic text written by Rushton attacking the art establishment and the college authorities.

One of the very last official A&L projects before the group splintered and A&L effectively became only synonymous with Baldwin and Mel Ramsden.

One of only 25 such posters issued - of which 15 were mailed to other student bodies and most likely lost. This copy in VG+ condition although with one closed tear bottom right and very minor edge damage else.
