Hamburg/Munich: Countdown 2000, 1980/1981
90 x 60cm offset lithograph with original handwritten additions, the print out from a computer printing out all the years in the Century - Beuys had noticed that there is a mistake - which he had corrected by hand in red ink (reproduced here in red over the green and grey lithograph). A similar work to Intuition in that Beuys was quick to point out the failures of machine processing over human thought - hence emphasising his preference for a less technological approach to life. Fine. Hand signed and numbered from the edition of 2,000 copies. Fine.Schellmann nr. 377.

Paris: Iris Clert, 1959

Swiss-born artist Jean Tinguely exhibited a number of “meta-matic” drawing machines at Galerie Iris Clert in Paris from July 1, 1959 , - mechanized table-top sculptures that created a drawing on a piece of paper without further human interference. In order to activate a machines, a custom-minted coin was inserted in a coin slot, which powered the machine on for a fixed duration.

One side of the coin reads: "XAVIER PONTUS VIVA EVA YVES HENRI IRIS" AND "META-MATIC" and on the other "METAMATICTINGUELY JUILLET 1959 PARIS". In plastic coin box with foam backing. Very rare.

Paris: Tresset, 2017

32 x 24cm, brown-red ink on white card. An original and unique drawing made by Tresset's artificial intelligence programme which was lined to robotic drawing machines and a camera which examined a still life of a raven, a skull and a stuffed fox (to reference Marcel Broodthaers' Corbeau et Renaud). The AI here used visual identification software to guide the drawing robots to make a number of such sketches -each being different. The works were then sold to visitors to the exhibition.

This example displays a drawing of the skull and is "signed" bottom left by the robot. On the back the work is dated 24/06/2018. VG+.
