NYC: New York Avant Garde Festival, 1971

73 x 37cm, full colour publicity poster for Moorman's annual festival featuring over 200 artists (all named on the poster) and offering performances and shows in all the artistic disciplines. The festival was based in the 69th Regiment Infantry Armory in Manhattan. The poster has various red hand applied rubber stamp impressions.

This is a mailed and folded copy of the poster. Very good condition although folded for mailing. This is one of the more difficult posters to find.

Six separate early numbers. Uniformly, 18.4 x 26.1 cm. 4pp. per. B/w photo-documentation. Small tabloid format. Five early numbers (out of the total number of 46) of the influential and eccentric gallerist's intriguing review. Always noted for her presentations of the newest tendencies on the art market in an unconventional manner, Clert's "Iris Time" serves as both documentation, newsletter, gossip tabloid and catalogue forum for the gallery's artists. And, on every copy, Clert's own image on the masthead posed as a vamp.

All issues in very good to excellent estate with past evidence of neat folding.

Price is for all 6 numbers but we may split this set up and sell individual numbers so do enquire.

21.5 x 13cm, 8pp self wraps. Announcement brochure for the avant garde journal supported by Andre Salmon, Gino Severini, Jean Cocteau, James Joyce, Rachilde and others mostly of the right wing /patriotic persuasion (an extensive list of supporters is reproduced here). The brochure is mostly notable for a reproduced 3pp text of a speech given by Gabriel Boissy in honour and in the presence of the Futurist Marinetti. Elsewhere there is an announcement of a fundraising ball (as the Friends were losing 500 francs a week according to the notice) and also a salon in honour of Alexandre Guinle with the participation of Paul Valery amongst others and a short festival of Czech cinema. Very good and partially uncut if previously horizontally folded.

Internal pages all have some minor browning and there is some minor edge damage to wrappers and closed tears to the spine both top and bottom. All numbers from the early years of this publication are scarce.

Folded and mailed but nonetheless very good condition. This is a variant printing from the red and blue version also available above.
