Internally a facsimile reprint of Estival's original 1963 treatise of the theory of Signisme and explaining Lettrisme, Ultra Lettrisme, the Situationist International and Schematism in terms of symbolism and seminology. Limitation not known but probably not large as this was a personal project. VG+.

2.5 x 14cm, 28pp. Original wrappers. First edition of this essay on the influence of the "divine marquis" on the French novel of the 30s from the acknowledged 'inventor of Sade' in the 20th Century, owing to his passionate and tireless scholarly searching out and subsequent re-contextualization of the latter's oeuvre.

Anecdotally, Heine had made a pact of sorts with Apollinaire to carry out a similar project. However, the poet's premature death left Heine to his own devices. Throughout the 20's and 30's (beyond the aforementioned Sadean pursuits), Heine participated in Surrealist group activities and those of the short-lived 'Contre-Attaque' faction.

This is one of 195 signed and numbered copies and has internally one small alteration to the text in Heine's own hand. Fine.

First edition thus - a collection of Benjamin's writings on children and play translated into Dutch along with comment by Asja Lazis taken from a socialist perspective. A key figure in the Frankfurt School of Marxism, Benjamin wrote on a wide range of topics - his theories of art criticism after the emergence of mechanical reproductivity being the best known of his works - but he also wrote extensively on the activities of children and gave entertaining lectures on radio for younger people that covered a wide range of philosophical topics in the guise of stories. This is an Dutch translation of some of those works and theories. VG+. Scarce.

Some wear to wrappers, some foxing, some original weak binding issues (due to period technology) and internal tax stamps on one page, else a solid example. Very scarce.

Here, Foucault contributes an 18 pages preface; surely routed through the like discursive methodology, which resulted in his first published work 'Histoire de la Folie a L'Age Classique' (1961) and his dissertation 'Maladie Mentale et Personalite'. Minor sunning to spine, else a very good example. Uncommon.

19 x 14.2cm, 159pp. 13 documents and two letters by Sade reproduced in facsimile. Photographic wrappers. First edition of these selections from Sade's hectic oeuvre, as edited by the Surrealist Lely. After WWII, Lely continued the legacy of Sadean scholarship and archeology set forth by Maurice Heine. Includes prologue, introduction, a poem and admirable bio-bibliographic material by Lely. A close to fine example. Increasingly scarce.
