This copy is one of only 15 numbered copies (the du tete) on fil Lafuma aside from 3 deluxe copies on Hollande, 300 ordinaire copies on verge and 39 copies hors commerce (total edition). Additionally this copy is dedicated by Monnier at the half-title to Jacqueline Fontaine "en signe de grande amitie" and dated "Avril 1923". Very slight browning to the wrappers and internal edges but otherwise very good. Rare.

The image here - one of the seven marvels of the 'pataphysique world - is the Les Maison des amis des livres d'Adrienne Monnier - in a distorted photograph. Issued during the period of "occulation" of the college which only ended in the year of 2000 (vulgar). Fine.

21.5 x 18cm. 248pp. Original wrappers. First edition of this meticulous work of librarianship by the pioneering author, publisher and founder of the famous bookshop 'La Maison des Livres'. Established just across the street from Sylvia Beach's Shakespeare & Company, Monnier established a long-lived business and personal relationship with Beach including the historic publication of Joyce's 'Ulysses' (Monnier being responsible for the first French edition).

Minor wear to wrappers and to the bottom right of the first few bevelled pages, some browning to the cheap paper and a former owner's ex libris still in place on inside front cover, else a very good example of this uncommon catalogue.

14 x 9.5cm, 2pp pictorial postcard with a reproduced image of Adrienne Monnier, the Grand Damme of the literary salon looking rather stern. Fine.
