Amsterdam`: Stedilijk Mseum, 2012

11 x 15.5cm semi-transparent printed envelope content of three 10.5 x 15cm, 2pp artist postcard and a 10.5 x 15cm, 1pp sheet of 3 adhesive cinderella stamps with a "Nul = O" design.

In 1966 the Nul Gruppe (Armando, Jan Hendrikse, Henk Peeters, Jan Schoonhoven) proposed a major installation Zero op Zee where works by the Dutch artists would be presented along with related artists from Europe, America, and Japan. The event would take place on the Pier of Scheveningen. It was never realised.

As part of an exhibition in Amsterdam in 2012, Henk Peeters created three photo-montages based on the original plans and also a small set of cinderella stamps.

The cards and the stamps were released as a limited edition, in an envelope.

The cards and stamps are in VG++ condition but the envelope has a closed tear of about 5cm on the back and other small flaws. Very scarce item.

Edinburgh:Fruitmarket Gallery, 1989

21.5x 15.5cm, printed card slipcase with closer content of three separate 21 x 15cm booklets, each unpaginated - c. 100pp in total plus card covers and a 20.5 x14.5cm, 4pp on card short essay/short story about Armando by Saskia Bos as well as a 16 x 11.5cm, 2pp reprinted text by the artist entitled "On Beauty" which was his speech to the Royal Netherlands Publishers Association on being awarded the Gouden Ganzeveer in 1987. The booklets consist of two text works by the artist the first of those being in two parts, namely "Snatches": a short collection of overheard and written down narratives and "The Presence": a short story. The second booklet being a translation of excerpts from a Dutch Television series "Herenleed"; which was in part written by the artist along with b/w photographs of the artist in "scenes" from the texts which in isolation are reminiscent of Godot and the third booklet being a more typical exhibition catalogue with an essay by Carel Blotkamp and thirteen reproductions of paintings in b/w and colours. All booklets and cards are in fine condition although there is some rubbing to the black of the folds on the outer slipcase. Scarce artist's book /catalogue from the founder member of the Nul group which had firm links with Zero - albeit at a time when the artist had turned to a more expressive and Cobra-esque style.
