Paris: Montparnasse, 1928

32.7 x 25cm, 24pp. Original wrappers with tipped on lithograph by Jean Lurcat. A single number of this arts revue which centres on the Montparnasse avant garde with a series of articles on Braque, Picasso, two on de Chirico (by Andre Salmon and "Flouquet"), Modigliani and 4 poems by Cendrars (Feullles de Route) and Max Jacob. One b/w photo-portrait of a young Braque, a reproduction of a portrait of Picasso by Modiglian and other works by contemporary artists.

Paris, (Depositaire: Le Sans Pareil), 1923 - 1925.
Three separate issues. Uniformly, 22.5 x 18.5 cm. Pagination varies per. A group of this (very rare) important avant-garde periodical of the twenties to which all the major French avant-garde authors, artists and composers contributed. Directed by Marcel Raval with his editor and secretary Mayr, the periodical was typographically experimental.
Throughout the second series of the revue there are numerous hors-texte plates and the occasional musical-score (as an important concern of the journal was contemporary music here with texts by Satie).
There are illustrations (including many unpublished drawings) and iterary contributions include Tzara, Cocteau, Artaud, Eluard, Crevel, Jacob, Larbaud, Cendrars, etc.
There are some condition flaws here with (as usual all wrappers are a bit browned and grubby and edge worn due to the slightly oversized covers). All internal pages on all are very good and most quite bright. Occasionally a few pages are foxed and browned. However, despite these noted concerns, all numbers of this journal are scarce and sought after.

PRICE IS FOR ALL THREE NUMBERS AS A GROUP.
