London: Freedom (C.M. Wilson), 1892
38 x 25.5cm, 8pp. Self cover. A single number from this long lived anarchist monthly - which was published from 1886 - 1905. This issue commemorates the Chicago Martyrs of 1887. Lengthy articles reporting on speeches and meetings and anarchist conferences are joined by articles by Peter Kropotkine (The conquest of Bread) and other shorter essays. Marked throughout and with some closed tears to extremities and one paper loss on back cover (not affecting text) other wise very good.

Leicester: Leicester Anarchist-Communist Group, 1894
26 x 19cm, 2pp. Black on white letterpress. A public open letter from the Leicester Anarchist-Communist Group addressing the Leicester branch of the Independent Labour Party and demanding to know why their members were not allowed to speak at a series of public meetings organised by the I.L.P. The leaflet condemns the I.L.P. leaders as 'new tyrants'. The ILP was of course to help form the Labour Party in the UK and was already becoming a little state-ist in its way of organising - the interaction/debate between the red and black organisations was already becoming of little benefit to the stronger socialist grouping and thus there was a tendency to deliberately ignore the anarchist organisations even at this time. Some foxing but overall very good.
