20 x 20 x 12cm found jewish skull cap in cotton and braid with added metal trinkets (here a number of peace symbols). An early work by Leibowitz where he found a commercially produced cap and stitched onto the pinnacle another found item - an earring which has 6 small peace symbols in metal on a clasp. The scull cap has the name “House of Leibowitz” printed on the inside by the original manufacturers - something that must have garnered the artist’s attention. Leibowitz informed us that he made a few dozen of these works but each was unique in the choice of trinket stitched onto the hat. Fine condition.
