Koln: Koenig, 1998

20. 5 x 20.5cm, 24pp plus grey covered boards with printed image and texts in colour. This is an unique artist's book which was issued by Walther Koenig as a special release at the same time as the original. There were 40 such books but each differed with an "extension" of the book. Tuttle made a paper cut/collage/fold with a minimal drawing by Tuttle and a short four word handwritten poem by Bernstein. Each book was signed and numbered on the back of the sheet.
The artist's book was created in collaboration with the poet Charles Bernstein and refers to the group of works "New Mexico - New York" created in 1997/98, which was first exhibited at the Sperone Westwater Gallery in New York (February/March 1998) and was published on the occasion of the award ceremony at the Ludwig Forum for International Art in Aachen on December 11, 1998. VG+.
