25 x 16 cm, 1pp printed in red on two-tone paper (cream/yellow and green on opposite sides of the sheet). This was the prospectus announcing the publication of the anthology dedicated to La Main à Plume, as part of the 2nd. series of the "Feuillets Du Quatre Vingt & Un". COntributors mentioned on the leaflet include Noël Arnaud, Maurice Blanchard, Charles Bocquet, J.F. Chabrun, Christian Dotremont, Edouard Jaguer, André Kundorf, Mardo Menegoz, Jacques Parler, Boris Rybak, Robert Rius, Gérard De Sède, André Stil. This partly pre-cut leaflet is intended to be folded to create a double adjoined square shape with the title "Avenir du Surrealisme" showing in the middle. This is a near fine example which has not been folded. Very scarce and inventive ephemera which came originally came from Noel Arnuald's estate.

One of 300 numbered examples (all published) of this exemplary post-Cobra period collaboration. A text introduction by Alechinsky is followed by lithographic reproductions of the title cycle of "word-pictures" executed by Jorn and Dotremont between 1948 & 53. During the winter of 1951-2, Dotremont spent 3 months in Silkeborg Sanitarium (suffering from tuberculosis) in the same ward as Jorn. Here, they worked on a series of "black-humored" word-picture drawings on the theme of hospital life. Guy Atkins has remarked that "All the drawings in this book are remarkable for the way that the words and images wander over and into each other and become inextricable, and for the rough and smudgy self-assurance of the brush and pen strokes". A fine example in very good slipcase with a little sun damage to the latter.

Paris: Le Bureau International du Surrealisme Revolutionnarie, 1948
21 x 29 cm, 48pp. 28 b/w illustrations. Tri-color printed wrappers. The first and only issue of this 'renegade' Surrealist journal. The Surrealisme Revolutionnaire group was co-founded by Christian Dotremont (Brussels) & Noel Arnaud (Paris) in June of 1947 with the publication of the pamphlet 'Pas de Quartiers dans la Revolution!' (text by Dotremont and Jean Seeger), which was co-signed by Marcel Broodthaers, Irene Hamoir, Rene Magritte, Paul Nouge, among others. The group was also responsible for the infamous interventionist catalogue-response to the monumental international Surrealist exhibition ('Surrealisme en 1947') held in Paris in 1947; a biting attack upon the established group's conformity to tried and true activities and styles. 'Le Surrealisme Revolutionnaire' is composed of texts by Broodthaers, Achille Chavee, Dotremont, Paul Colinet, Edouard Jaguer, Raymond Queneau, Tristan Tzara, et. al., and illustrations by Max Bucaille, Asger Jorn, Richard Mortenson, among others.
A considerable document of the polemic schism between Surrealist generations and old comrades and the early manifestations of Cobra group activity. The text contribution by Broodthaers is one of his earliest published pieces (preceding his first book of poems by nine years). A very good+ example of this scarce and fragile journal.
