30 x 21cm, 8pp (single folded sheet) - a promotional section from a local newspaper which promotes the major travelling exhibition of works from the recently emerged Young British Artists (YBAs) displaying works by Hirst, Emin, Lucas, Turk. Quinn, Saville, Taylor- Wood, Turk, Hume and others. The supplement opens up to display the exhibition poster with one image of a Sarah Lucas work. Slight tears where the section has been removed from staples else VG.

BROKEN ENGLISH. 1991. VERY EARLY “YBA” CATALOGUE.

21 x 21cm, 12pp self covers. Exhibition catalogue for this very early YBA show which took place very soon after the Freeze exhibition that introduced Hirst et al to the world. The catalogue avoids mention of the artists as a group (the curator actually argues that they are NOT a group) and certainly no mention of "Young British Artist"; can be found in the pages because the term had not been coined at this point. Each of the artists were selected for the show by Andrew Graham-Dixon and are given a one page in the catalogue with one b/w reproduction - Hirst has isolated Elements Swimming In The Same Direction for the Purpose of an Understanding. One small mark on back cover but otherwise very good. Scarce.

The scarce press release from the gallery which reproduced most of the reviews of the show and contains 8 full size (A4) colour inkjet reproductions of the works by Hirst (Horror at Home and The Last Supper suite of prints), Emin (Bed and The Last Thing I said To You was Don't Leave Me Here), Turk, Lucas, Hume and the Champman Brothers. 'Ant Noises' was an anagram of the word 'Sensation' - the name of the ground breaking first YBA retrospective. Clearly scarce documentation. Fine.

37 x 31.5cm black paint on paper, in original artist chosen yellow frame. Unique work within a series of 1,000 similar works. Signed and titled and numbered from the sequence on the back. Hume created a number of works based on doors and windows and this is a hand-painted multiple by the YBA. Fine with original Tate packaging.
