USA: Turnabout, 1967
Standard 12 inch LP in printed sleeve. An important release relating to early electronic music with Cage's Fontana Mix (1958 for magnetic tape), Luciano Berio's Visage (1961 for magnetic tape) and Ilhan Mimaroglu's Agony- Visual Study No. 4 after Arshile Gorky (1965 for magnetic tape). Regarded as the most important volume in Turnabout's Electronic Music series, with 3 essential early electronic works. Cage realized this version of Fontana Mix at the Milan Studio di Fonologia; the Berio work was also composed at the Studio di Fonologia and uses electronic sounds and tape-manipulated recordings of the voice of his wife, Cathy Berberian; Mimaroglu's piece was realised at the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center and is sourced from oscillators, generators, and filters. VG in VG sleeve although there is a former owner's name neatly written in the top left corner of the back sleeve.
