27.7 x 21cm, 64pp plus wrappers. Original sandpaper dustwrappers as published. This is one of the most famous of artist's books. Jorn and Debord created a number of collages which were later overpainted by Jorn and sprinkled with texts by Debord which tell the story of the International Situationists in a somewhat oblique manner. The final book then had an unprinted sandpaper dust jacket added to the publication which Debord thought would damage any other book placed beside Memoires on a bookcase.

This is in near mint condition with only a few slithers of the sandpaper coming away on the dustjacket on the bottom right of the front dj.

Despite 500 of the book being published this is a rare item.

The lengthy text argues that the recent electricity blackout in New York where an estimated billion dollars was looted by residents of the city was nothing compared with the usual plunder of New York capitalism. 27 x 21.5cm, 12pp plus folded card covers with 5 documents of the International Situationists laid in the back cover as facsimiles/originals (Attention Trois Provocateurs, Appel a tout les estudiants en etat de porter les armes!, La Verite est revollutionnaire and De la merde en milieu situationiste, Rien que la merde, mais toute la merde and a facsimile of the 1967 statement signed by Bernstein, Debord, Khayati, Nicholson-Smith and Vienet excluding the group (Theo Frey, Jean Garnault and Herbert Holl). This is an important pamphlet published by a group of recent SI excludees known as the "Garnautins" (Theo Frey, Jean Garnault, Herbert Holl and Edith Frey) : a rare document indicative of the bitter splits that could occur in the group (which was at no time very large anyway). Very good apart from a 2 x 7cm loss of card on the inside back cover after the fold (not visible when closed). Rare
