he programme reproduces a three page letter from Copeau to Jouvet written in 1924 after the two had become friendly rivals in the Parisian theatre (Copeau having founded the hugely successful Theatre and School of the Vieux-Colombier where he had worked closely with Jules Romains - but by 1924 the once popular venue had failed and was closing and Copeau was forced to tour and give lectures to raise funds. Jouvet asked Copeau to work with him at the Chaps Elysees but the latter declined). Very good.
