Text contributions by Louis Aragon, Georges Bataille, Rene Char, Paul Colinet, Lise Deharme, Paul Eluard, Xavier Forneret, Georges Hugnet, Max Jacob, Michel Leiris, Jean Paulhan, Francis Ponge, Jacques Prevert, Raymond Queneau, Jean Paul Sartre, Tristan Tzara, et al. All in very good condition. Complete runs of this clandestine journal are hard to find.

23 x 16.5cm, 10pp, self wrapper. A single number of this "cahier" mostly dedicated to the work of Eluard with a text by Jean Paulhan on the poet, an illustration by Picasso and 7 poems by the writer. There is also a 1pp text on George Hugnet by Francis Dumont and a booklist of Eluard's publications. An uncut example. Not often encountered.<br /><br />

27 x 21cm, 1pp black on white. Collective tract written on the acceptance by Saint-John Perse of the Nobel Prize for literature. Signed by Breton, Gracq, Paulhan, Ponge, Soupault and Ungaretti. Formerly folded and with some browning along the fold otherwise very good.

10.5 x 14cm, 2pp printed reply card with a note handwritten by the French writer, literary critic and publisher, director of the foremost French literary magazine of the period, the Nouvelle Revue Francaise aka NRF (after the retirement of Jacques Riviere).

Paulhan was also the recipient of the erotic love letters that formed the basis of the Story Of O written by the author's lover Anne Desclos and originally published under her pseudonym of Dominique Aury. The text here is a short note chiding an anonymous contributor who has failed to deliver his promised text to Paulhan on time. Fine.

Text contributions by Louis Aragon, Georges Bataille, Rene Char, Paul Colinet, Lise Deharme, Paul Eluard, Xavier Forneret, Georges Hugnet, Max Jacob, Michel Leiris, Jean Paulhan, Francis Ponge, Jacques Prevert, Raymond Queneau, Jean Paul Sartre, Tristan Tzara, et. al. Number one with some minor sunning to wrappers, Number two in fine condition.
