Dusseldorf: Art Information/Media Contact, 1971
30 x 21cm, 16pp b/w with b/w illustrations. Edited by Dietmar Kirves. The first of a series of documentations of German avant garde activity in the form of an "Art Information" journal. This first number from the series displays the Beuys' action (along with Anatol Herzfeld, Joachim Duckwitz, Ulrich Meister, and Johannes Stuttgen) "The Table" (der Tisch) which took place in Dusseldorf in the year of publication. Very good apart from a slight mark on front cover. One of 500 copies. Stamped with Beuys' "Haupfstrom" rubber stamp impression on the front cover. Stapled top left as issued. Now very scarce.

Dusseldorf: s.p. (Stuttgen/Kaldenkirchen), 29 December 1969
19 x 45cm, b/w typographic poster which has been over stamped with three stamps - a Fluxus Zone West stamp in light blue, a dark blue Haupfstron rubber stamp designed by Beuys and a Deutsche Studenten Partei stamp in red. This is the extremely rare poster documentation of a performance by Beuys' student Stuttgen on the eve of the new decade: Stuttgen presented a work originally performed in Beuys' class (originally entitled Pangenese) in which Beuys also participated. It is not clear whether Beuys was present at this second performance but there is no doubt of his influence here and the refrain played on a tape recorder ?Hast du kant gekannt?? (Do you know Kant?) was included in this work as was Beuys's Ja Ja Ja Ja Ja Nee Nee Nee Nee Nee Nee and the Haupfstron stamp also hints at Beuys' attendance or at least approval. Stuttgen had actually aided Beuys at Documenta of the same year and in 1970 became the key co-ordinator in the formation of the International Free University and later a founder (along with Beuys) of the German Green Party. This has very minor chipping at edges and has been folded once horizontally for storage. An extremely rare document of Beuys, Fluxus and Stuttgen.
