Paris: Elisabeth, Stepháne & Anne-Marie Rona. 1973 - 1981 34.5 x 25 cm, pagination varies, 34 different numbers (including 3 double issues - nrs 21/22. 23/24, 32/33 and special nr 12 bis) plus nr 39. All = 85. A continuous early run of this important art journal that was initiated from Stephane Elizabeth from her Galerie les Contemporains, along with her son Stepháne and daughter Anne-Marie. The first issue (included here) was published on the occasion of the Düsseldorf Art Fair in October 1973. Contributions are from by Jospeh Beuys (2 covers), Marcel Broodthaers (3 covers), André Cadere, Charlier, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Anne and Patrick Poirier, Ulay & Marina Abramovic, Ian Hamilton Finlay and others. JOINT: Paris: Elisabeth, Stepháne & Anne-Marie Rona. 1973 - 1981 NR 39, 34.5 x 25 cm, 48pp. Very slight marking / browning on the odd issue but overall VG++. Early numbers of this journal are hard to find and this early run is not available elsewhere that we know of. NYC: John Gibson Gallery, 1997 15 x 10.5cm, 2pp typographic design announcement card for a group show of German photographers which included Bernard & Hilla Becher, Joseph Beuys, Eberhardt Bosslet, B.K.H. Gutmann, Candida Hofer, Kazou Kaatase, Wolfgang Robbe and Wolfgang Staehle. This is a mailed and stamped example with franking marks and a paper address label (to the famous gallery L'Attica) on the back with gallery details. There is a small ink image on front from the postal experience also else VG+.

Venice: Galleria del Cavallino, 1975 20 x 19cm, 6pp (single folded sheet). Announcement/exhibition catalogue for a show of artist's video tapes including Cavallino's own. Essay in Italian by Ernesto L. Francalanci. Small screen shots of works by Acconcci and Luthi as well as four works by Cavallini. A list of the tapes shown listed on the card included Beuys, Boetti, Buren, Chiari, Jonas, Nannucci, Oppenheim, Palestine. VG+.

Exhibition catalogue with 10 b/w images of multiples and an interview with Beuys in German “Letter from London". VG +. This copy is signed on the front by Beuys in red felt tipped pen.

DLP, Edition Rene Block, 1982 Two, standard 33rpm LPs in gatefold sleeve with a reproduced image of Maciunas in Gorrila mask. Live recording of the Fluxus-Soiree which took place the Auditorium of the Staatliche Kunstakademie Dusseldorf: the concert was given in the memory of Maciunas who had recently died. Very good cover (although there is a thin 6cm paper scuff top right) with unplayed record. Ref.: "Broken Music" pg 100. JOINT WITH 40 x 31cm, printed plastic bag with the same artwork as the front of the record and verso publisher details. This is signed by boldly by Joseph Beuys in black felt tip on the front. This bag is far more rare than the record and very few examples still exist. Slight handling creases else VG+.

Standard 33 rpm LP record in printed 30 x 30cm gatefold sleeve (with images of Paik, Beuys and Christiansen on the inside) which is the recording of the musical performance by the three artists at the Biennale des Friedens, Hamburg, November 29, 1985.

There is a printed inner sleeve with reproduced drawings by Henning Christiansen.

This is the deluxe edition of the record which was released in only 43 examples with three additional silkscreen lithographs by Christianson, two of which are signed in pen, pencil and one is numbered. All VG+.

There is a surface scuff to the inner sleeve which does not affect the images or text else VG+. Record is unplayed.

32 x 23 cm loose leaf folio containing colophon/index page, a b/w image of a weighing machine to be cut out and a pack of cards representing responses from the participating artists (George Brecht, Joseph Beuys, Dick Higgins, Christian Henning et al. who were asked to nominate objects of different weights as equivalents for use on the scales) and some string, washers etc. Printed editioned multiple - first edition, later there was a wooden box version. Slight marks to white folder else VG.

Hamburg/Munich: Countdown 2000, 1980/1981 90 x 60cm offset lithograph with original handwritten additions, the print out from a computer printing out all the years in the Century - Beuys had noticed that there is a mistake - which he had corrected by hand in red ink (reproduced here in red over the green and grey lithograph). A similar work to Intuition in that Beuys was quick to point out the failures of machine processing over human thought - hence emphasising his preference for a less technological approach to life. Fine. Hand signed and numbered from the edition of 2,000 copies. Fine.Schellmann nr. 377.
