This is a first edition of a satyrical version of the famous Dutch play "Gijbrecht van Aemstel” by Joost van den Vondel dating from 1637 which was adapted by Diercks to serve the Provo cause and expected to be performed around New Year’s Day. One of 1,500 numbered copies. There is some browning on the half title page where the publisher’s ribbon has left a shadow for some unknown reason but else a VG+ example of this book. Now scarce.
