10 x 21cm, 16pp in spine binding. The very scarce documentation of this conceptual and site specific work where Hershman introduced a male statue into a YWCA room as a protest at management's refusal to allow men into the building. The installation lasted a day before being closed down by the administration. Fine.

10 x 21cm, 16pp in spine binding. The very scarce documentation of a further conceptual and site specific work. Hershman invited a coach trip to view a room in a hotel which had been set up to suggest some unusual event had taken place. Eight photographs by the artist. The later Dante Hotel (co- created with Eleona Copolla) was a similar event but with the installation suggesting a murder had taken place: one visitor fearing foul play called the police - only for the rooms contents to be taken into custody and remain in police hands today. Fine.

A CHEQUE FROM ROBERTA BREITMORE MADE OUT TO PAUL ROBERTSON & SIGNED BY “BREITMORE”. 1974 (ACTUALLY 2003).

7.2 x 15.4cm, printed commercial cheque from the "Breitmore Account" with the Bank of America in San Francisco. The cheque is blank but is made out to Parul Robertson and signed Roberta Breitmore in black ink. It is dated 6/17/1974 but this date is spurious as the cheque was actually signed and completed by Lynn Hershmann in 2003 as a thank you to Robertson for helping her appraise her archive. Roberta Breitmore was hermann's alter ego and was a famous feminist art performance where Hershmann took on the persona of another fictitious woman and lived a wholly separate life including visiting a psychologist and claiming she was troubled thinking she was not real and was really a different woman called Lynne Hershmann. A landmark action. Such cheques are uber rare and this is a significant holding of feminist and performance art.
