21.2 x 14cm, 8pp. An open letter from the Belgium group in support for the beleaguered artist Roger van de Wouwer who was being prosecuted for obscenity by the ministry of Justice following an exhibition in the Galerie La Proue. Cover of the pamphlet reproduces a sculpture by de Wouwer of a headless and armless torso wearing a bloody sanitary towel. Signed by Marcel Marien, and Philip Soupault amongst others, Fine.<br />

Uniformly 29.5 x 23cm, single sheet folded to give 8pp self cover. Coated paper. First edition. A complete run of the second series of this Belgium surrealist journal founded by Marien albeit the gap in time between the two series may allow the curator to regard them as separate journals. In the first series Marien did not include Magritte as one of the contributors but this was rectified here. All in fine condition, some uncut. Scarce as a complete run.

22 x 27.5 cm. first edition of this surrealist tract which quotes the French revolutionary Saint-Just as an introduction to a text by Marien: "Pie l'obscur sur la seconde"; which is an attack on the Vatican and clericalism in general. In fact here Marien calls the Pope "public enemy number one". The photomontage of a Jesus statue on top of a naked woman is by Magritte. Folded twice but otherwise very good.

21 x 15cm, 4pp plus original red wrappers. Exhibition catalogue and artist's book for a solo show by Marien. 25 works listed as exhibited. The internal sheets reproduce a b/w image of a middle age man dancing with a younger girl and then two blank pages awaiting the addition of images hence turning this in to a quasi-artist's book. The inner pages have been collated incorrectly and are upside down compared with the cover, otherwise VG+. Priced thus.
