NYC: Artist's Space, 1979

15 x 10.5cm, 2pp announcement card for a group show including work by Rasheed Araeen & The Black Phoenix, Conrad Atkinson, Margaret Harrison, Alexis Hunter, Mary Kelly, Tony Rickaby and Marie Yates. The card however has a typed text in blue which states: "This postcard piece originally protested the exclusion of Third World artists from a recent British Art show in Paris." - the front being "Un Certann Art Anglais" by Rasheed Araeen, 1979. The group show was a politically committed exhibition which was the first in what Artist's Space claimed to "intended to expand international communicaiton and to form an archive of political art. Anyone interested in participating in future manifestations should contact Lucy R. Lippard." This card was a mailed example and has an address label for James Collins in New York on the back along with gallery details.
