Rannoch Moor: s.p. (Maris), 2023

21 x 1cm, 1pp typographic artists postcard for with a text and b/w work by the Scottish land artists - The Dark Infinity of Her Eye (made from decayed heather in an acrylic medium on gesso panel.)

The artist's wrote: "On the perfect palindrome of 21 February 2012, I found his Shieling of the Pool, and opened the stone chamber in which he had interred Her heather amulet.

I gathered up the remains - a spoonful of peaty compost flecked with flakes of rotting wood.

Over the next few months, I carefully transformed the Prima Materia into just enough pigment to cover a small gesso panel with a brown so deep it is nearly black. I have no doubt that it matches the iris of the Muse, for I too have looked into that dark infinity, and caught the seven catchlights of Her own sacred constellation - Corona Borealis."

"I have set the painting's value as equal to the house in which its existence was prevised:

She picked up a small twig from the sea-scorched heath and offered it to him. "Here, is your Home." He returned her smile as he accepted her modest gift.

"No honestly. Do not doubt me.

21.5 x 21.5 x ).7cm printed silver on black folder content of a 21 x 21cm, 96pp exhibition catalogue with tipped on musical cd. The annual exhibition displaying the Academicians annual output. This 187th annual show includes major Scottish artists such as John Byrne, Adrian Wiszniewski, John Knox, Kenny Hunter, Maris and others with colour images of new works.

The CD includes work by Maris, Zoe Irvine, Hanna Tuulikki and Marcus Coates.

Additionally this was the deluxe version of the catalogue which contained a 21 x 21cm, giclee print by Graham Fagan - Natural Anarchy - which is one of 150 pencil signed and numbered examples. Very slight crease along the bottom blank edge (due to the way in which the print was inserted into the folder) else VG+ with like book.

Artist's book which takes original photographs of Joseph Beuys (taken by Richard Demarco) and Demarco's young female assistant Sally Holman of a visit to Loch awe and then later Rannoch Moor on Friday 8 May 1970 when Beuys dissolved a chunk of fat into the rivers there by burying it.

Maris later found the exact locations where this happened and re-photogrpahs the views 30 years later (using the exact same models of photographic equipment) along with geolocated coordinates. The scenes are shown in reverse order from the originals.
