Bristol: DIalogue of the Deaf, 1983

21 x 15cm, 32pp plus card covers. A comic review (albeit factual) on the various far-left groupings existing in Britain in 1983. The variety of idiocy is amazing including the Posadas grouping who had such an incredible leader that he was able to write newspaper articles in advance of his death relating to current events. The predictive power of dialectical materialism was never as strong. Other groups surveyed include Militant Tendency, Socialist Workers Party, International Marxist Group, Workers Revolutionary Party, Spartacist League, Big Flame, Official IRA, Solidarity, Chartists, ILP, London Labour Briefing and more. Interesting how many of these groups no longer exist. Francis Boyle cartoon on the front cover. Some browning to the cheap paper internally and a small stain from coffee on the back cover else VG+. Fairly sort after.

Southampton: Clause 4, 1985

21 x 15cm, 32pp plus card covers. Political pamphlet exposing the Trotskite theory behind the Militant Tendency's entryism into the Labour Party. Clause 4 was often regarded as the Labour Party's "masons" as membership was by invite only; the organisation promoted a bastardised form of euro-communism (Antonio Gramsci being a key theorist for the group) within Labour and was at the forefront of the campaign to expel Militant. Later many of the activists from Clause 4 became part of Tony Blair's government as MPs or backroom staff. Very slight grubbiness on back wrappers and a small hald cm split at bottom of spine else VG. Now scarce.

Leeds: ILP Square One Publications, 1982

21 x 15cm, 16pp plus card covers. Stapled. Political pamphlet exposing the Trotskite tactics of the Militant Tendency who "entered" the Labour Party as a strategy to recruit for their own selfish aims. It took years for the Labour leadership to expel them (at a conference where I attended living in a rented flat under Tony Benn's room above, Kinnock's speech was received by myself and comrades with uproar and a loud attempt to let the Militant-sympathiser Benn know what we thought). Somewhat scarce but essential reading which even today expose the continuing tactics of ultra-left groupings like Momentum (albeit that is a broad grouping not an established party but contains some Trotskite people). VG+ although some very mild grubbiness to the wrappers.
