Four numbers, uniformly 27 x 21cm, 88pp, 96pp, 108pp and 132pp respectively. The penultimate surrealist journal which received Breton's approval (and arguably the last as  L'Archibras was published posthumously to Breton despite the latter's assent to the publication). Contributors include Alechinsky, Auduin, Benayoun, Bedouin, Dax, Ivsec, Luca, Mansour (the contributions), Mayoux, Nouge, Svanberg amongst others. Illustrated throughout in b/w by the likes of Toyen, Parent, Camancho, Klapheck and others. All in very good condition although nr 6 has some minor chipping to the wrappers.

15.4 x 11cm, 76 pp. Printed wrappers. First published edition of the text of Nouge's title speech, as delivered on Jan. 20, 1929 (in Charleroi). Content of the first thorough exploration of (and an attempt to insinuate) music within the surrealist context. Together with Goemans, Magritte, Mesens, et al., Nouge co-founded the Belgian Surrealist Group. While Breton was infamous for his disregard of music (but for Brahms), the Belgians love their Jazz! A very good+ example of this scarce counterpoint piece which remains uncut.

14.5 x 10cm, 2pp. B/w postcard: one of the early issues in postcard form of this artist's publication. Recto is a drawing "Les Badauds" by Paul Colinet and a text by Magritte which is a surrealistic detective story - a pastiche of a detective noir. Recto: "Les petites annonces du petit Gerard" :a spoof series of adverts. Fine. Scarce.

26 x 21cm, 4pp. First edition of this tract written by Dotremont and Jean Seeger which was co-signed by Marcel Broodthaers (an early surrealist activity), Irene Hamoir, Rene Magritte, Paul Nouge, among others and was the most public manifestation of the post-war founding of the Surrealisme Revolutionnaire by Christian Dotremont (Brussels) and Noel Arnaud (Paris) as a break with Breton and the other surrealists who fled France during the war. Slightly browned but otherwise a very good example of a rare and important document.

28 x 22cm, 4pp. Jointly authored response to the "affair Aragon" published by the Belgium surrealists on January 30, 1932. The Stalinist Aragon had broken with the surrealists after Humanitie (the mouthpiece of the french Communist Party) had bizarrely attacked Breton for defending his former friend after the publication of "Red Front" by Aragon which had been prosecuted by the French state because of its call to soldiers to rebel. Former vertical and horizontal creases but otherwise very good.

26.8 x 21cm. 4pp. Black on white. First edition of this open letter condemning the bourgeois appropriation of Rimbaud on the occasion of an unveiling of a monument to the gunrunner, pimp and poet. Signed in print by Aragon, Arp, Baron, Breton, Desnos, Duhamel, Eluard, Ernst, Leiris, Masson, Naville, Nouge, Peret, Prevert, Queneau, Tanguy and Unik amongst others. Slightly browned otherwise very good. Scarce early tract.
