The announcement leaflet for a conference of René Passeron, Jacques Halpern, and the Surrealisme-Revolutionnaire March 24, 1948 at the Salle de Géographie in Paris. The poster promises films, music, paintings, perfumes and "sounds of the season". Somewhat fragile after 75 years with mild chipping along the bottom but now scarce. Overall VG.

First and only number of this dissident Surrealist journal issued on the occasion of an exhibition of Max Bucaille's collages at Galerie Rive Gauche. Near fine copy, one of 989 numbered copies issued (total edition) of this uncommon G.L.M. imprint.

41 x 30.7 cm, 1pp broadside, black on red paper which announces 5 public meetings "Origine et situation historique" (Arnaud, Justet, Passeron); "Objets surrealistes et non figuration" (Atlan, Halpern, Jaguer); "Poesie et vie quotidienne" (Arnaud, Dotremont...); "Erotisme et liberte" (Daussy, Harpern, Passeron) and "Perspectives du Surrealisme Revolutionnaire" (Arnaud, Dotremont, Passeron).

Each section is serrated and could be removed as a stand alone leaflet - here complete and with only minor tears along the serrations. Fine. Very rare.

Facsimile signatures to this manifesto in the form of an "affiche" included Suzan Allen, Noel Arnaud, Yves Battistini, Max Bucaille, Edouard Jaguer, Rene Passeron, Lucien Biton, Pierre Desgraupes, Pierre Dumayet, Jacques Halpern, Hubert Juin, Jacques Kober, Jean Laude, amongst others.

The broadside is an attack on the Bretonist French surrealist group and tying the Belgium section closer to the Soviet communist party. Fine if a little browned example of this rare document.
