The dust jacket unfurls to be an original lithograph / collage by Robert Motherwell ("Untitled" 1974) on the cover, measuring 25 x 81cm completely unfolded including the flaps.

This was one of the edition of 3,975 unsigned copies, with original machine printed lithograph and Gauloises cigarette pack collage. With vertical cover fold as issued, pencil added title on spine and minor age toning to covers, else very good overall condition. Each print/dj is unique in the series.

Scarce despite the huge limitation. A useful reference for the etchings and prints also of the abstract expressionist.

15 x 15cm, 4pp. Promotional leaflet for a number of editions by Indiana, Gunter Fruhtrunk, Allen Jones, Utz Kampmann, Dieter Kreig, Dante Leonelli, Francois Morellet, Robert Motherwell, Martial Raysse and Victor Vasarely. Each work is reproduced in b/w apart from the Indiana Love which is in colour on the front. A subscription form is found on the flap. VG+.

20.5 x 14cm, 1pp folded size opening out into an upside down "T" shape.

The advance announcement for the US surrealist journal on which Breton sat as one of editors along with Robert Motherwell, Matta, Max Ernst and William Carlos Williams. Four small b/w reproductions after Weegee, Ernst and Man Ray and a detailed poetic explanation of the choice of name: "V"; is for "double victory" over all that is opposed to the emancipation of the spirit. The reproductions were designed to be torn off and distributed but this copy is still intact albeit the fold line is cleanly torn - otherwise a very good copy of a fragile and essential document.

30.3 x 22.3cm, double sided printed folder content of nine different sized folios each promoting a particular print portfolio - John Piper has a 6pp brochure for his Death in Venice Suite, Oskar Kokoschka has two inserts both 4pp, the first for Delphinium (a flower print) and the second one for Fasan (a dead pheasant), Robert Motherwell has a 2pp insert with four works reproduced in colour, Lowell Nesbitt has again a 2pp with four works, Lynn Chadwick's Two sitting figures (on stripes) I and II is also a 2pp insert. Allan D'Arcangelo's Watertower Suite is 4pp as is Herbert Bayer's four abstracts. Finally Tom Phillips' three lithographs are promoted with a 2pp sheet. All have artist's biographies and b/w portrait picture on the last page.

Also included is the 30 x 21cm, 4pp mimeographed (stapled) price list for the works and 30 x 21cm, 6pp (recto only, stapled) price list for a range of other gallery represented artists inlcuding Barbara Hepworth, Allen Jones, R. B. Kitaj, Henry Moore, Ben Nicholson, Victor Pasmore, Larry Rivers amonst others. A few of the inserts bear the rubber stamp impression of Stadt Gallerie Munchen else all VG.

66 x 56cm, exhibition poster and mailing announcement. Recto: 3 b/w images of Motherwell's work including Elegy to the Spanish Republic XXXV and a reproduction of a view of the artist's studio. Verso: gallery information. Folded as issued for mailing. Very good with the smallest of tears at the centre where folds meet.

15 X 10.5cm, b/w 2pp full colour announcement card with on an image of Jackson Pollock painting. On the reverse is a note “Best Christian” from the curator Christian Matthiessen and addressed to Charles Harrison (the editor of Art-Language). The card announces films on pollock and Motherwell and a concert by Feldman (Piano and String Quartets from 1985). Fine even though a stamped and mailed copy.
