27 x 22 cm, 236pp. Original wrappers. A single early number of this archeological, ethnographic and arts magazine which has articles by E. Nordenskild (on Seurat), C.T. Seltman in archaic sculptures in the Cyclades, a general article by George Bataille on the human figure (which interestingly for the author of the Story of the Eye has a section discussing the horror (which Bataille perceives) of the human eye along with an eye bulging illustration of Joan Crawford's popping globes and C. Einstein on the Gravures d'Hercule Seghers and an early, if far from extensive (2pp) article by Michel Leiris (written during his surrealist period) on Alberto Giacometti. Illustrations (eighty-one of them) throughout in b/w including Salvador Dali, Giocometti (four sculptural works printed fullsheet hors texte), Picasso, Seghers and others including many images of black citizens of the USA and native africans. Fine example of a pretty scarce document.

15.5 x 12cm, 64pp. Original wrappers with lithographic portrait after a drawing by Modiglianani. We believe this to be the first edition of this monograph on the sculptor (although there is a mention of the 2nd edition on the cover which we believe is be fictive) with 48 b/w full page reproductions of works and other lithographs to be found amidst the essay by the surrealist playwright and author, Vitrac. Beginnings of a slight weakening of the binding and fading at the edges of the blue wrappers but otherwise very good.

18.5 x 13.5cm, 92pp. B/w frontispiece portrait of Vitrac by Andre Masson. One hors-texte illustration by Max Morise. Printed wrappers. First edition. One of 500 numbered examples (after 40 hors-commerce, 40 lettered and 16 on japon copies) issued of the author's premiere Surrealist drama.

Vitrac (together with Artaud) first realised Surrealist principles within a theatrical context, and was a key figure during the formative 'Surrealiste Centrale' period. Minimal internal foxing else a more than acceptable and solid example. Scarce.
