Prague: Plastic People of the Universe, n.d. (1970s)
30 x 21cm, unpaginated (approx 72pp). Covers stapled into plastic sleeves. The paper utilised varies internally. Xeroxed. Illegal underground music magazine published in very small numbers by the progressive rock band which was distributed privately to fans: the band were later persecuted by the Czech authorities and their trial became the focus of international opposition to the repressive regime and led Havel to form Charter 77 and eventual to overthrow the government in a bloodless revolution. The band hand printed and collated the books themselves as can be seen in a vintage film currently available on the internet. A lot of wear and tear to the wrappers and plastic outer wrappings but internally VG. Very rare.
