Milano: Galleria S. Fedele, 1957

30.8 x 22cm, 8pp plus original wrappers. Exhibition catalogue for this Italian exhibition of works by the Arte Nucleare movement which, at the time of publication, was at the height of its influence. There are 12 b/w illustrations of paintings from the group and amidst the others and a solitary 2-colour (blue and black) reproduction of one of Klein's paintings. Manzoni's post-surrealist "hominid" painting is another interesting work as is Jorn's pre-&"Movement for an Imaginist Bauhaus" painting which has all the hallmarks of his mature style.

There is an essay by the curator Giorgio Kaisserlain who welcomes Manzoni as the youngest and newest adherent to the arte nucleare group and elsewhere a reprinting of Baj's original manifesto of 1952 (within a translated article by Jageur). Near fine. Very scarce.

Milano: Movimento Arte Nucleare/E.P.I., 1955

31.8 x 22.2cm. 16 pp. Illustrations in b/w throughout. Wrappers with a pictorial design after a sculpture by Max Ernst. Edited by Enrico Baj and Sergio Dangelo.

The first and scarcest number (of four published) of this journal of the Arte Nucleare group which here has contributions from many involved in the "Bauhaus Imaginista" group and is thus an important document in the development of International Situationism as well as the technophilic arte nucleare movement. Contributions from Sanesi, Jaguer, Izima, Dangelo and original contributions from Fontana, Jorn, Ernst and others.

Fontana's contribution is an original black lithograph on coloured paper which is simply laid in. Some slight fading to wrappers and signs of past water damage to the top and bottom corners which has caused some paper scuffing where pages have in the past been peeled apart, else a vg copy. The Fontana lithograph is very good + with only minor edge soft creases.
