Hamburg: Edition Nautilus, 1998
29 x 38 x 5 cm printed box content of the final version of Spoerri’s famous artist’s book where the retained debris of a meal is analysed, considered, researched and, tangentially, mused upon by the authors and each footnote always in danger of being footnoted in turn. In addition to this final version (the 4th) the publication includes a 225 x 160cm printed tablecloth recreating a painting by Merit Oppenheim of the final table covered in snow (she had enquired which objects were over 15cm in diameter or height and those were the times that could be seen after the “snowfall” and seven printed paper napkins. A wonderfully lovely work. One of only 250 signed and numbered copies plus 50 HC. This is a fine copy in like box. Now very hard to find.
