18 x 11cm, 244pp. Bound in period leather binding. First edition thus of this collection of poems (1917 - 1952) from the former surrealist and post-war darling of nationalist France. Frontal photographic portrait of the poet in b/w and other illustrations elsewhere in the text.

This copy is augmented by a nice and extensive dedication in blue ink by the ethnologist and linguist Marcel Cohen: "un souvenir pour Jeannette (the second name is hard to read it may be: Anghel? Tenghel? Terghel?) d'un compagnon de lutte du grand Eluard Marcel Cohen" and then, additionally, signed in blue ink by the dada-ist Tzara and another dedication above in an unknown hand which reads "En souvenir de ces grands jours de lutte, des communards aux resistants, de belles et glorieuses pages de l'histoire proletarienne paris ce 5/6/55" and the hard to read signature of "Muro(?) des Fedines".

This was Eluard's last book published in his lifetime as the poet died in November of 1952 from heart problems. One small area of damage (a minor loss of the binding) to the top of the spine of the leather binding (the missing piece is retained for repair) which is also split down the edge for about 2cm otherwise VG. Unique association copy.

A complete run. Uniformly, 13.6 x 18cm. approx 88 pp each respectively. Original wrappers, each with uniform cover design by Picasso. Text contributions by Louis Aragon, Georges Bataille, Rene Char, Paul Colinet, Lise Deharme, Paul Eluard, Xavier Forneret, Georges Hugnet, Max Jacob, Michel Leiris, Jean Paulhan, Francis Ponge, Jacques Prevert, Raymond Queneau, Jean Paul Sartre, Tristan Tzara, et al. All in very good condition. Complete runs of this clandestine journal are hard to find.

16 x 13.5cm, 242pp. Original wrappers. First edition of this monograph on the work of the dadaist. One of an unstated number of trade copies, this one has an ink dedication by Tzara on the half-title to Alain Cuny. Very good although paper somewhat browned due to the quality employed.

19.5 x 14.5 cm, 56pp. Original wrappers. First edition thus of this poem written in 1945 during a stay in the psychiatric hospital Saint-Alban. A numbered copy from a total edition of 1,000 copies with an ink hand-written, dated dedication from Tzara on the half-title along with a small drawing of a flower. Wrappers have damp stains top and bottom and there is minor paper loss at bottom of spine and a re-glued top of spine but overall very good. Scarce.

2 volumes, uniformly 17.5 x 11.2cm, 142pp and 168pp. Stiff card original wrappers. First edition of this collection of theatrical works by Rousseau with a preface by Tzara in volume one. Photographs of Douanier Rousseau and the original manuscript cover act as frontispiece.

Paper is heavily browned and the numbers in the two volumes are not the same (707 and 709) the closeness of which suggests a dispatch mistake rather than a later reunion otherwise very good and volume two is mostly uncut.

Tzara's preface works hard to try to place these works in some sort of historical significance. One of 2,000 numbered copies issued.

7inch, 33rpm, single record. Original printed card sleeve with inner sleeve. First edition of this recording of various poems by Tzara - a companion record to the TRISTAN TZARA POETS D'AUJOURD'HUI Nr 52 book. Unplayed in fine sleeve. Scarce.

21 x 13.5cm. 16pp. Original wrappers. The first edition of this counter- attack on Aragon after his own reposte to Breton in  "Misere de la Poesie"; with original contributions by Char, Crevel, Dali,  Eluard, Ernst, Peret, Tanguy, Thirion and Tzara.

The wrappers here have a former owner's name on the top left written in ink and some signs of dampness on the brown wrappers which have caused some stains and wrinkles but  internally all is VG. Scarce but priced to account for the condition issues.

19 x 12cm, 84pp. Original printed wrappers. First edition of this documentation of Tzara's speech to a conference held at the Sorbonne in April of 1947 discussing how surrealism had developed during and immediately after the war (with a schism in the ranks by then apparent). Breton had already disassociated himself from Tzara many years before and here Tzara returns the compliment. A very good example although the back cover is slightly stained and teh cheap post-war paper as always somewhat browned.

18.2 x 11.8cm, 310 pp. Printed wrappers. Preface de Jean Cassou. First collected edition of these verse and prose pieces by Tzara, which span the whole of his activities from 1916 through the mid-1940's. Includes selections from &"Grains et Issues", "Ou Boivent les Loups", "Midis Gagnes", et. al.

This example inscribed by Tzara to the surrealist painter Adrien Dax : "A Adrien Dax, ces vieux souvenirs, Tristan Tzara" . A very good+ example of a nice association copy.

18.5 x 12cm, 140 pp. Printed wrappers. First trade edition of this absurdist dramatic work by Tzara. A VG example with some small tears at the top and bottom of the spine o the wrappers.

19.5 x 14.8cm, 174pp. Original wrappers. First edition of this important collection of surrealist verse. A numbered copy on Alfa from the total edition of 1,100 copies. Very good and scarce although there is a slight weakness to the internal glue binding of the cover. This copy came from the library of the painter, Serpan (Laroslav Sossountzov) and bears his neat signature in ink on the half-title and a date ("45).

22 x 16cm, 68pp plus covers and dj. Tzara's poems from his later surrealist period boldly illustrated by Masson. One of 3,000 on verge creme aside from the 50 copies on Grand Velin. Some water damage (stained) to bottom right of front dust jacket, some additional brown dots on the reverse and very slight water damage to internal edges, otherwise a solid example.
