This image was originally taken by Fred McDarrah and his estate retains copyright on the image so this is sold for personal use and not for reproduction. This is in very good condition and a crisp modern print (post 1990s we suspect) from original negative. If this was a vintage print we would charge much more.

Ten different announcement cards - each 15 x 10.5cm, 2pp. The cards were issued for a major retrospective of the work of Fahlstrom but the exhibition displayed works by a large number of cultural figures who knew the artist or whom were influenced by his work. The front of the cards have images of  Oyvind Fahlstrom, and , for instance, Andy Warhol, David Bowie, The Velvet Underground, Claes Oldenburg, Bruce Lee, amongst others. A huge list of artists from the show can be seen on the back of the cards. ALl VG+.

The ornately produced exhibition catalogue for this significant review of Warhol's foray into rock and pop music. Contained within the collection are a large exhibition poster, a 48pp glossy, heavily illustrated book on Warhol and the Velvet Underground, the images being both in b/w and colour, a leperello card printed with images from a Velvet Underground reunion, a tribute cd, another (16pp) brochure with material and pictures placing the music of the Velvets in the context of the work of La Monte Young, Angus MacLise, Piero Heliczer, Gerard Malanga and others.

Finally there are (in miniature) reprints of a number of Velvet Underground posters, band photographs, a fully illustrated brochure on the NY art scene in the 60's with the Fugs, VU, Jack Smith, Kenneth Anger, Marian Zazeela and more.

A fine example and a joy to read and a very useful reference to a band who were decades in advance of their auditory time.
