The letter is essentially a letter welcoming Faux to membership of the college and outlining some of the important aspects of membership. Above all Faux is warned to keep the existence of the college and its statutes etc. secret. The letter is dated using the college's own calendar as 76 - making the letter one of the earliest college documents we have ever seen given it was written in 1949, the year of the college's founding.

The letter has a red rubber stamp impression and is signed in ink Huguessainmon. There is a small brown mark top left, the letter has been folded twice and there is a small 3cm tear and minor wear but over all very good. A rare exceptionally early document from a significant figure in the college.

10 x 15cm, 2pp. First edition of this postcard from the college with an amusing appropriation of a near naked period Frenchman (with his modesty saved by a posing pouch, nay, almost a man-kini) with the title claim that the image was of Pierre Loti and verso one can find the usual publication details. This copy is enhanced by a hand written note in blue ink by the 'pataphysician Petitfaux to Yani Faux discussing the opening of an exhibition of engravings by Joseph Sima and Daumal. Very good.

The letter is an angry note from the senior 'pataphysician (Latis was appointed as Secretaire-Particulier of the college in 1959) who was furious that Faux had given out Latis' private telephone number to another person. Latis points out in the letter that he hates talking on the telephone and that Faux should not ever pass the number on again!

The signed letter is dated 17/01/1963 and was sent from Lozère in France where Latis was then living. Minor wear and small tears to letter in like envelope but a revealing if short missive from one of the College's leading figures.

APS ON PATAPHYSICAL POSTCARD FROM T.S. LATIS TO JANI FAUX 1963

10.5 x 15cm, 2pp b/w blue postcard with an image recto of a far eastern giant elephant sculpture and verso the usual College publication information. Written vertically across the card is a lengthy note of apology from T. S. Latis to Jani Faux explaining that the former's previous angry letter had been misdirected as Latis had later found that another person (not Faux) had given out Latis' telephone number to someone Latis did not want to speak to and that Latis had previously believed that Faux was responsible. Signed by Latis in ink and dated 20/01/1963. Very good condition.
