The exhibition was Levine’s deliberate provocation where the works were made by casting 30 different Wrigley Double-Mint gum strips in gold after the artist had masticated each for 2 minutes.
Levine is quoted elsewhere as saying “It’s a disgrace that all those sculptors have to work so hard to produce something that could have been done by sitting at home chewing gum”
