Edinburgh: International Film Festival, 1982
30 x 21cm, 64pp plus glassy covers. The Festival programme for the 36th year of one of the world’s most important film events. This year featured the films of Peter Greenaway as a special feature including the world premiere of The Draughtsman’s Contract and other UK premieres in this year included Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner, John Carpenter’s The Thing, Sam Raimi’s The Evil Dead, Werner Herzog’s Fitzcarraldo, Martin Elfand’s An Officer and A gentleman, and Speilberg’s ET as the Gala Performance (and the front cover of the brochure has this as the feature image). Illustrated in b/w throughout with full listings.
This was perhaps the greatest every year in the Festival’s history – in part introducing Greenaway (and Michael Nyman) to a much wider audience. A bit worn but over all VG.
