A CLAIM OF RIGHT FOR SCOTLAND. A RARE SIGNED COPY. 1988.

Edinburgh: Campaign for a Scottish Assembly, 1988

30 x 21 cm, 30pp plus printed card covers. The important document published by the SCA as the plan for the formation of, and, the strategy for the winning of a Scottish Parliament. This was the rallying call for the later Yes Campaign and formed the basis of Labour’s later Scottish home rule commitment that created Scotland’s first parliament for over 300 years in 1999.

Only 250 were printed but this copy is a rare association copy since it is unusually signed by both Robert Grieve the Chairman of the CSA and Jim Ross , the, then Secretary of the CSA and previous permanent secretary at the Scottish Office during the Devolution referendum. We understand only a few copies of this document were ever signed and given to prominent supporters of the campaign – of which this is one. Essential. Very fine condition.
