A VIEW FROM THE DAKOTA. 1985. LIMITED DISTRIBUTION RADIO INTERVIEW ALBUM.

NYC: Westwood One, 1985

Standard 33rp two-sided long playing vinyl record in original white unprinted sleeve. This was a promotional record for the release of Ono’s Starpeace album but was only circulated to radio stations and was only to air for the week of October 21, 1985.  Additionally there is 30 x 21cm, 1pp cue sheet for the DJ (see photos) and a 30 x 21cm, 1pp xerox as issued) of  Westwood One’s “Satellite News Roundup” from the week prior, announcing the program. Both VG+.

The interview was by Mary Turner recorded at the Lennon’s apartment in the Dakota in New York City. The record contyains excerpts of songs from Starpeace as well as solo John Lennon tracks and a couple of Beatles excerpts. The songs are not complete tracks but are part of the segment interspersed with the interview.

As note these radio shows were made available only to radio stations in the US who subscribed to Westwood One. These were not sold in stores and are therefore exceptionally hard to find.
