38 x 29cm, 16pp (self cover). The final number of the Fluxus newpaper vtre – here issued as a memorial issue for George Maciunas who had recently died. Spoof articles by Brecht and others are joined by small printed contributions by George Brecht, Wolf Vostell, Nam June Paik, Ben Vautier, Yoshi Wada, Geoff Hendricks, and others throughout. A long article with numerous small reproduced photographs by Peter Moore shows the Wedding of George Maciunas and Billie where the couple swapped clothes in front of a large audience of well-wishers.
JOINT:
Two inserts – “ILLUSTRATIONS” (38 x 13.2cm, 1pp printed black on light brown paper) which indicates legends for the 70 plus photographs in the newpaper and “CORRECTION” (38 x 7cm, 1pp printed black on light brown paper) which has GEORGE MACIUNAS LIFE SPAN DATA on it – listing Maciunas; stats such as his consumption of lemons (4,524) and the amount of urine he expelled (10.68 tons). Both VG+ and often missing.
The newspaper and inserts are in VG+ condition and on the back cover of the journal Geoff Hendricks has has signed in blue ink and added details of an exhibition for 2012.
Used to be easy to find but now there are no copies for sale online – hence scarce.
