ART CASH. 1971. COMPLETE SET OF SIX BILLS.

NYC: Experiments in Art & Technology, 1971

Six different 6.5 x 15.7cm, 2pp “art cash” vouchers printed on original dollar bill paper. Issued as a limited-edition multiple in 1971 for a casino-themed fundraiser for Experiments in Art and Technology. The artists, Andy Warhol, Robert Whitman, Robert Rauschenberg, Tom Gormley, Red Grooms and Marisol, all contributed bills of different values for the event. The money was printed by the American Banknote Company on the same paper used for U.S. currency at the time (minus the threading employed for anti-counterfeit measures). Originating from the estate of E.A.T.’s founder, these bills are extremely rare. In very fine condition.
