ARTIST’S BOOK. 2012. ONE OF 20 DELUXE COPIES WITH ORIGINAL DRAWING.

25 x 27cm, two part archival cardboard box content of two books in slipcase. The books are both reprints of chidren’s books “Mein Erster Brockhaus”. This was a project by the publisher Salon who asked artists to choose an important book from their life. Schneider has had the publishers reprint the book twice – one (in this deluxe form) has an original signed drawing (in a deliberately childish style) by Schneider on the inside cover, the second book prints the same image on the same page. Such duplication of architectural spaces is something that Schneider has done in sculptures (for instance in the Family Schneider in London) and this is an analogue of the fascination.

This is one of 20 numbered and 20 H.C. copies with the drawing aside from the 150 copies without a drawing. In original unprinted white slipcase. A present from Schneider to Paul Robertson on the occasion of the opening of Susser Duft in Edinburgh in 2016.  Not currently for sale.
