94.2 x 61cm three colour offset lithograph designed by Claes Oldenburg with typography by Sarah Seagull created as a rallying call for action against US imperialist policy in Central America. Signed in print by a vast number of significant artists and critics all reproduced in columns along with a list of planned events over Oldenburg’s clever adaptation of the cliched Imo Jima image of flag-raising soldiers transformed into US troops hauling down a giant banana. Fine example – over 20,000 copies of this poster were originally printed but now these are scarce indeed. Ref: Oldenburg Prints, posters and ephemera nr 185.
